Well, the trip is off to a good start... NOT! It's early Sunday morning, the day that I was supposed to be boarding the plane to Athens. Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans -- pulverizing the eastern sea board with the most vicious storm in recent memory. Fortunately, I seem to be inland enough in good ole' Binghamton, NY to escape the brute of this monster. Plus, Athens isn't going anywhere (it hasn't for 5,000 years) so I can be patient. Others are not so lucky at the moment. Thoughts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by Irene's wrath, including the friends and family of the 10 people already reported dead.
My firsthand account of the most epic semester EVER -- as a participant in the College Year in Athens (CYA) study abroad program.
